A stressed student |
Don't you just love the summer? The fireflies light up the night, summer camp is filled with excitement, grandparents are visited, school is over and you can just chillax. Well in my school, school might be dead for two months but homework still lives. The new 7th graders are expected to write an essay
over the summer on the book you read which has to be based on a social issue with an additional article that relates to the book. The whole project is due the first day of school. If you don't bring it in that day, 7th grade will be a long year for you. I'm telling you reader, it is not pretty. Just when you think the nightmare of homework is over, more of it piles up. It is eternal. Yes, summer homework does prepare you for 7th grade, but man, does it have to be this long? I envy my comrades who have no summer homework at all. I mean shouldn't our homework be to relax and rest for the 7th grade instead of being stressed the whole summer trying to write an essay? Kids like us need a serious break.
What do you think?
